TO ALL OPEN WATER SWIMMERS:

The Cape Long Distance Swimming Association is formalizing its’ structure and after 40 years of being held together largely by the commitment and abundance of enthusiasm of a handful of individuals, it will now have a formal membership base (with the commitment and enthusiasm as an added bonus!) . The direction CLDSA is taking is both in response to requests from swimmers wishing to join the CLDSA and in response to the CLDSA’s continued commitment to represent the open water swimming community.

If you are receiving this email, you are already loosely associated with the CLDSA (by being on the database), and this will continue for the rest of this season.. We invite you however to join the CLDSA as a member.

CLDSA ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE: R100 (for the season August through to July every year)

BENEFITS:

• ·         Nominating and voting rights at Annual General Meetings
• ·         Guests of the CLDSA at the Annual Awards function at no additional cost
• ·         Receiving open water event updates and news in your inbox
• ·         Eligibility to participate in swims where the CLDSA is officiating. It will now be compulsory for all swimmers wishing to do a Robben Island crossing or any other CLDSA official crossings, to be a member of the CLDSA.

• 2)      Deposit your membership fee (R100) for the 2009 / 2010 season into the CLDSA account:
